Abstract

The persistent problem of corruption in public services in Latin America has driven the analysis of anti-corruption oversight as a key mechanism for strengthening state management. This study aimed to analyze the social and economic effects of anti-corruption oversight in public services across the region. A qualitative research approach was adopted, with a descriptive and comparative design, based on documentary analysis of governance indicators, social perceptions of corruption, and transparency mechanisms, considering the regional context and the cases of Chile and Uruguay. The results show that stronger institutional oversight is associated with higher levels of public trust and more efficient management of public resources. It is concluded that strengthening anti-corruption oversight contributes significantly to improving the quality of public services and promoting social and economic development in Latin America.
